Susam
It is a yearly grown plant generating oil and having one metre height. İndia, sudan, china and nigeria are on the top lines in terms of yield of sesame in the world. The sesame grown in Turkey is superior when compared in terms of taste and oil rates. The lower leaves of the plant are opposite to each other while upper ones are in full and lance shape. İts flowers are white or pink

The fruit is a capsule in 2-3 cm height, tall, prismatic and having multitude seeds. Sesame likes warm climates. Seed yield and oil rate increases in hot regions. İt loves medium heavy and humus soil. Crop season is september. Planting is in april and may. 1-1.5 Kg. seed per decare is planted.


    From sesame seeds about 50% oil is generated. The oil is nearly odourless and has pale colour. İt is used in cooking, and in medical fields. The sesame grains which are piled are used in biscuit, cookies, simit and some desserts


Upon granding of piled sesame seeds sesame oil is produced and upon mixture of sesame seed oil and sugar, helvah is produced.



SESAME SEED OIL  TAHIN       
            Best quality sesame seeds undergo sieving, piling and separation processes respectively, and then are cleaned and dried up at 150°C-200°C for 2 to 3 hours. Then waited until room temperature, and crushed in order to obtainsesame oil without using any additive and protective agents. Fuly natural sesame oil has very ligt cream colour and is a flowing food.

While it is consumed at breakfast, used in flavour products, it is also used as a dessert having high nutrition value, obtained upon mixing with honey or boiled grape-juice        

SESAME OIL HELVAH

            The sugar is boiled up to 150 C, and erynigum root juice is added and mixed until white sweet syrup is obtained. Sesame seed is added to the syrup and kneaded until the desired thickness is obtained. Then the product is poured into desired moulds and cooled. As a dessert especially, is consumed during winter months. İn addition, it is highly nutritous and natural food.
